Trio holds up a Yonkers cab driver
Three men held up a cab driver at gunpoint early today and escaped with $150 in cash, police said.
Police said the 48-year-old driver for the Azteca Car Service in Yonkers was sent to to 67 Elliott Ave. to pick up a fare at 2 a.m. Two men climbed into the back seat. The man who claimed to have called the cab was standing across the street.
One of the passengers put a black pistol to the driver's head and demanded money. The robbers took the money, the driver's license and a resident alien card, then ran away.
The three suspects were all black men in their early 20s, police said. The man who said he called the cab was 5 foot 9, 160 pounds and wearing black T-shirt and khaki pants.
The second robber, armed with a gun, was also 5 foot 9 and wore a black T-shirt and dark pants. The third man wore a white T-shirt.
